IMO the filter in the sampler does not sound very good.Native Instruments Maschine 2 v2.0.2 FIX ONLY | 56.5 KB Team R2R 2013.11.15Ĭreate tight rhythms, harmonies and melodies in moments with MASCHINE - the groundbreaking instrument that combines a pattern-based sequencer, professional sampler, multi-effect unit and VST/AU plug-in host with tactile control. MPC Live relies a bit too much on the touch screen. The big knob is good, but sometimes you need to scroll trough the screens when you could just tap with a finger. While i also do dislike small touch screens, i think HW like MK3 that has knobs and buttons could benefit from also having touch screens. There is some places where you expect to be able to just click on the screen. Now as i have been using few hours the MK3 i have to admit that i have couple times touched the screens like they were touch screens. so was thinking maybe tutorial videos would be an easier approach.MK3 review videos are good for what the Hardware does.
Have been reading the manual but it's a bit convoluted because there's a separate manual for the software and the controller.
I want to hit the ground running when my M+ arrives, so am trying to learn how to use maschine in advance. Preset surfing is what got me to run from the ITB world in the first place Which is not to say there isnt an awful lot there already! I just feel like it would be a missed opportunity is all. If the only DIY content I'll ever be able to make is maschine kits and synth patches for FM8, Massive and Monark, its going to be a bit of a bummer. I dont really fancy the idea of having to rely of buying expansions in order to use the stuff I already have a licence for (Kontakt Library, Reaktor Library / BLOCS). I hope NI is committed to enabling a more DIY approach to content on the M+ in the future.
Its indeed selections, not the full factory libs. Of course these are not as good as the full Kontakt level pianos and such but they’re good enough.Oh yes, you are correct. You will find the pianos, pads, guitars, etc there, not really in the Kontakt and Reaktor libs. The “Sounds” section are similar to Akai key groups with several multi sampled instruments (and usually full effect chains with macros). With that being said, a lot of the bread and butter stuff is actually in the Maschine factory library (and expansions). I assume at some point the full libraries will come (hopefully!). The device comes with the Kontakt and Reaktor factory “selections”, not the Library! The selections are pretty paltry sets from the larger libraries.
